DescriptionThe whole story▼

The YZF-R125 is where many riders begin: a sports bike in miniature, with the look of Yamaha's larger R models and a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that suits the A1 licence. A small four-stroke only comes alive high in the rev range, so riding one well means changing gear constantly, and every change starts with the left hand. Accossato's ESR15L is a clutch lever for exactly that kind of riding: machined from aluminium, listed for the YZF-R125 from 2012 to 2016 and adjustable for its distance to the grip.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever for the Yamaha YZF-R125, listed 2012 to 2016
  • Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting
  • Reach adjustable, useful for smaller hands
  • Short blade in silver, blue, gold, orange or green
  • Standard blade of about 138 mm in all seven colours
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised, black hub
  • Fixed one-piece blade

Construction and Material Quality

There is nothing scaled down about the ESR15L. It is built the same way as Accossato's levers for large sports bikes: machined from aluminium on CNC equipment, anodised, with a black hub and a coloured blade. The blade is fixed, a single rigid piece without a folding joint, so the clutch take-up feels identical every time. For a young rider still building habits, that consistency is worth more than it sounds, because the hand learns one bite point and can trust it.

Working a Small Engine Hard

A 125 cc single rewards a rider who keeps it spinning. On a climb, into a headwind or when overtaking, you drop a gear or two to stay in the useful part of the rev range, and on a twisty road the left hand and foot are busy all the time. That makes the weight and position of the clutch lever more important on a small bike than on a large one. Set the ESR15L's reach so a quick, short pull frees the clutch without the fingers opening wide; many riders on small bikes use two fingers for the clutch, and the short blade suits that. The standard blade of about 138 mm stays closer to the original and gives more leverage, which helps younger or smaller hands on long rides. Either way, the goal is quick, relaxed changes that keep the YZF-R125 on the boil.

Fitment and Compatibility

Under the designation YZF 125 YZF-R, the ESR15L is listed for 2012 to 2016. There is no other Accossato lever in the list for this bike, so the front brake keeps its original lever. The ESR15L replaces the stock clutch lever at the original mounting. Other years of the YZF-R125 are not covered, so check the year in your registration documents before ordering.

Road Approval

Because a German ABE is not documented for the ESR15L, it is offered for track use.
