The JP KS YA003 is fitted to the R6 when the machine stops being ridden on roads and the key stops being something worth carrying.

The Supersport That Would Not Die
Yamaha stopped selling the R6 for the road and kept building it for racing, which tells you everything about where the model ended up.
Reversible
The standard block refits on its own fasteners with its own connector. Keeping it in a labelled bag is the whole of the requirement.
Where the Weight Sits
High and forward, above the steering head. Mass in that position works against the rider on every direction change, which is why the figure is worth more than it looks.
Starting the Bike
The starter button stays where it was on the switchgear. This part replaces the ignition block and not the controls around it.
Torque
The fasteners thread into the yoke and the figures are low. Looking them up is quicker than repairing a thread in an aluminium casting.
Aluminium, Cut and Anodised
The body is machined from a 7000 series alloy and the finish converted into it. Nothing is bonded on that can lift at an edge.
Scrutineering
Series differ on stop controls. A sealed button in the standard position satisfies most, but the rulebook is the only authority worth consulting.
Weight Distribution
Mass at the steering head is worth roughly twice what mass low in the frame is worth to a rider. That is the whole reason this number gets quoted.
Where the Cable Goes
Straight down to the loom where the block's did. Nothing needs extending, rerouting or shortening on the correct part number.
Who Should Not Buy It
Anybody whose motorcycle is ridden on public roads, parked out of sight, or covered by an insurance policy that assumes a working steering lock. The part is honest about being made for racing and the buyer should be too.
