DescriptionThe whole story▼

On track or road, an unguarded brake lever is a genuine safety liability — a single inadvertent contact can trigger an unexpected stop at the worst possible moment. The Bonamici Racing Brake Lever Guard EVO LPRR2 eliminates that risk for Yamaha YZF-R1 and R1M riders across the full 2009–2026 model range, wrapping your OEM lever in CNC-machined Italian aluminium that is purpose-engineered to prevent accidental brake application under race conditions.

Key Features

  • Prevents accidental brake application caused by contact with other riders or trackside obstacles — a critical safety advantage in close racing or busy trackday sessions
  • CNC-machined from high-grade aluminium for an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio that adds protection without meaningful mass penalty
  • Aerodynamically profiled shell improves airflow across the handlebar area, contributing to stability at high speed and through fast corners
  • Supplied with the ADLY_U adapter for direct, plug-and-play fitment onto the stock OEM handlebar — no modifications or additional parts required
  • 100% Made in Italy to the exacting tolerances of professional motorsport, where the Bonamici Racing name is built on podium results
  • Available in eight anodised colours so the guard integrates cleanly with your cockpit colour scheme

Purpose-Built Safety for the YZF-R1 Platform

The LPRR2 was developed specifically around the Yamaha YZF-R1 and R1M handlebar geometry across its entire 2009–2026 production run — this is not a universal fitment with compromise shims, but a model-specific component. The guard sits on the right-hand brake lever side and encloses the lever blade in a profile that deflects contact away cleanly, keeping your braking input entirely under your control. That precision matters most in the fractional-second decisions of circuit riding, where an unwanted braking event can have serious consequences.

Construction and Finish

Bonamici Racing machines each guard from solid aluminium billet using multi-axis CNC equipment at their facility in Italy. The result is a part with no cast porosity, no flex, and dimensional accuracy that guarantees correct lever clearance every time. The anodised finish is integral to the aluminium surface rather than a surface coating, giving long-lasting colour resistance against fuel, brake fluid, and UV exposure. Eight colour options — from understated black and silver through to race-bold orange, red, and green — allow you to match team livery or personalise your R1 cockpit precisely.

Installation

The included ADLY_U adapter is the only additional component needed. It locates the guard directly onto the standard Yamaha handlebar clamp without drilling, welding, or sourcing secondary hardware. Fitting is straightforward with basic hand tools and does not require fairing removal on most R1 configurations.
