DescriptionThe whole story▼

For a Triumph Speed Twin 1200 that races, the choice of front brake material is part of the setup, alongside tyres, suspension and gearing. Accossato offers the AGPA112 front pad for the 2019 and 2020 Speed Twin 1200 in its ZXC ceramic racing compound. It is designed for racing, and the sensible way to adopt it is to test it during a practice day or the first sessions of a race weekend, and compare it with whatever the bike ran before.

Key Features

  • ZXC ceramic racing compound, article AGPA112ZXC
  • For the front of the Triumph Speed Twin 1200, 2019 and 2020
  • For racing and circuit testing
  • Accossato calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing
  • Two pads per box; two boxes for both front calipers
  • Also offered in OR, ST, EV1 and EV2

Construction and Material Quality

ZXC is Accossato's ceramic racing compound. The company describes it as ideal for racing and gives no further technical detail, so we do not add any. It shares the general aims of Accossato's range: long service life, controlled heat and reduced fade, and strong braking. The feel of a ceramic compound at the lever is personal, so the rider's impressions from a test session are the most useful guide.

Setting Up in the Paddock

A practical approach is to fit the ZXC pads to both front calipers before the first practice, bed them in with a few progressive stops, and then let the rider build up to race braking. After the session, talk through initial bite, lever travel, and how the Speed Twin 1200 behaves on the brakes into the slowest corner. Inspect the pads and discs, and write everything down. If the rider likes the material, keep it; if not, change back before qualifying.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato records the AGPA112 at the front of the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 for the model years 2019 and 2020. With two front calipers, a full change means two boxes, one per side. The Speed Twin's rear takes the AGPA76, which Accossato lists from 2019 to 2023. The front pad can also be ordered as Organic, Sintered, EV1 or EV2.

Road Approval

This ceramic pad has no German ABE, and we have no road test documentation for it. It is supplied for racing and track use.

Scope of Delivery

Two AGPA112 front pads in ZXC ceramic racing compound, the set for one front caliper.
