DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Versys 650 often carries two. The upright seating, a roomy pillion seat and the twin's willing pull from low revs make it a natural choice for riders who travel with a partner, and riding two-up changes the job of the clutch. With the ESK750, Accossato offers a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the Versys 650 of 2006 to 2020, its reach adjustable and its blade made in three lengths, so that pulling away can be as smooth as your passenger would like.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Versys 650, listed 2006 to 2020
- Reach adjustable
- Long blade for a lighter pull, made in blue, gold, green and orange
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm; short blade in five colours
- Fits at the original clutch mounting
- Machined and anodised aluminium, black hub
- Fixed blade, no hinge
Construction and Material Quality
The reach adjuster of the ESK750 sits in the black hub, close to the pivot. Because it acts so near the pivot, it changes the angle of the whole blade, and the tip, furthest from the pivot, moves the most. That is how a compact adjuster can bring the lever noticeably closer to the grip or move it further away. The lever itself is machined from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodised; the hub is black and the blade takes the colour you select. There is no folding joint anywhere along the blade, so the lever moves as one piece.
Pulling Away Two-Up
With a passenger on board, pulling away is where smooth riders and clumsy ones are told apart. The extra weight means the clutch has to transmit more drive before the bike moves, and any snatch in the take-up throws the passenger back and then forward into the rider. The answer is a slow, deliberate release through the friction zone with slightly more throttle than when riding solo, and that is easiest when the fingers can hold the lever at the biting point without effort. Adjust the ESK750 so that the clutch starts to engage while your fingers are comfortably curled. Many riders who regularly carry a passenger choose the long blade: its extra leverage makes holding the friction point less tiring, especially in traffic, where the Versys 650 may pull away from a standstill many times in an afternoon. A quick word with the passenger helps too: hands on the rider's waist and feet on the pegs before the bike moves.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESK750 covers the Versys 650 from 2006 to 2020 in Accossato's list, spread over several entries that reflect the model's updates, including the new look for 2010 and the redesign for 2015. It takes the place of the stock lever at the original clutch mounting. The EDF021 brake lever is listed for the Versys 650 from 2015 to 2024, so a matching pair is possible on bikes from 2015 onwards.
Road Approval
Road use in Germany is not covered by a documented ABE for this clutch lever; we sell it for the track.
