DescriptionThe whole story▼

The RSV4 RF belongs to the part of Aprilia's range that spends much of its life on circuits, and on a circuit the brakes work harder than anywhere else. Once slick tyres and tyre warmers come into play, the grip available under braking rises, and so does the pressure a rider puts through the lever. The Accossato EDF011 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the RSV4 RF of 2015 to 2019. It mounts on the original master cylinder and offers adjustable reach and three blade lengths.

Key Features

  • Brake lever for the Aprilia RSV4 RF, model years 2015 to 2019
  • Replaces the stock lever on the original master cylinder
  • Adjustable distance to the grip
  • Short blade in blue, gold, green, orange and silver
  • Standard length approximately 138 mm in all colours; long blade in four
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised with a black hub
  • Rigid blade with no folding joint
  • No German ABE documented; sold for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Hard braking on slicks puts real load through a lever, and the EDF011 is built as a solid part to take it. Accossato machines it on CNC equipment from a single aluminium blank, then anodises the hub black and the blade in the colour of your choice. The hub contains the pivot and the reach adjuster, and the blade runs without interruption to its tip. With no hinge to flex, the lever responds at the end of the main straight in the last session exactly as it did in the first.

Slicks, Warmers and a Harder Squeeze

On road tyres, few riders ever use the full strength of an RSV4 RF's brakes. On slicks brought up to temperature in warmers, the front tyre accepts far more braking force, so you squeeze harder and hold the pressure longer before the turn-in. That changes what the lever position has to allow for. At full squeeze it must not trap the fingers that stay on the throttle, and it must not come back so close to the grip that no margin is left.

Check it in the pit box: with the bike on a stand, pull the lever as hard as you would at the end of the straight and look at where it stops relative to your throttle fingers. The short blade, in blue, gold, green, orange and silver, is the usual answer for two-finger braking because its tip stays clear of the ring and little finger. If the lever comes back too far, set the reach a little further out than you would for the road, and recheck after the first sessions of the day, once the whole system is at working temperature. Riders who brake with three or four fingers will find the standard blade of about 138 mm in all seven colours.

Fitment and Compatibility

We offer the EDF011 for the RSV4 RF from 2015 to 2019, mounted on the original front master cylinder. Accossato's own list for the RF starts earlier, but the RF only arrived for the 2015 model year, so that is where this product begins. The same reference is listed for the RSV4 1100 Factory of 2021 and 2022. On the clutch side, the ESV004 is offered for the RSV4 RF of 2015 to 2019. As with any lever change, compare your stock part with the photos before ordering.

Road Approval

No documented German road approval (ABE) exists for this lever. We supply it for circuit use.
