DescriptionThe whole story▼
On the R7 the front brake is a single job done well rather than an overwhelming one. That makes lever feel more important, not less: with a modest amount of power on tap, corner speed is what you are protecting, and corner speed is protected with the first part of the lever's travel.
Key Features
- Folding blade that swings clear instead of snapping off
- Engineered break point inside the two-finger zone
- Phosphated pivot seat, free of play from new
- CNC-machined from solid aluminium, black anodised
- Milled Gilles face for a secure gloved grip
- Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203
The Blade
Machined from solid aluminium, black anodised, phosphated at the pivot seat. Free of play out of the box and designed to stay that way, because a clutch or brake lever that develops slack ruins exactly the fine control it was bought to improve.
Reach Under Clip-Ons
The R7's clip-ons drop the wrists and roll the hand forward, which changes where the fingers naturally close. Thirty-five detents let you meet that position rather than compromise with it. The adjuster is a knurled wheel, reachable without releasing the bar.
Built to Survive a Drop
The blade folds. On a light sportbike that spends time in car parks and on track days, that is the feature that decides whether a fall costs an inspection or a master cylinder. The break point sits in the two-finger area by design.
Road Approval
Carries ABE No. KBA 91203 for German road use; the certificate downloads here. No entry in the papers and no testing-organisation inspection are required, and the blade must not be shortened or drilled.
Scope of Delivery
A single black brake lever for the R7. It uses the original pivot hardware, so the standard lever can be refitted at any time.
