DescriptionThe whole story▼

In northern climates the riding season is short unless you are prepared to ride in cold and wet conditions, and plenty of Triumph Street Twin owners are. For an early Street Twin used well into autumn and early spring, Accossato lists the AGPA72 front pad in Sintered (ST) compound, covering the Street Twin from 2016 to 2021. It is intended for riders who want the lever to feel the same at a few degrees above freezing as on a mild day.

Key Features

  • Front brake pads for the Triumph Street Twin, 2016 to 2021
  • AGPA72 plate in Sintered (ST) compound (AGPA72ST)
  • For cold-season riding and damp roads
  • Accossato cites constant grip whether cold or warm
  • Good wet-disc bite according to the maker
  • One box fits the single front caliper
  • No German ABE; offered for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's ST recipe is described as keeping a high, constant grip level in both cold and warm conditions, and as performing well in the wet. On the AGPA72 plate for the early Street Twin, that suits riders who stretch their season at both ends. The company, today based in Villastellone near Turin, aims for long-lasting pads that limit heat and stop strongly.

Stretching the Season

Cold air, cold tyres and a cold disc make the first minutes of a winter ride the trickiest. A sintered compound is designed to work consistently from low temperatures, so the front brake is less of an unknown. Still, allow tyres time to warm, brake early and smoothly, and watch for damp patches in shaded corners.

Preparing for Cold Months

Before the cold season, check front pad thickness and look for uneven wear that might point to a sticking piston. Brake fluid absorbs moisture, so renewing it before winter is a good habit. At pad changes, clean the piston, push it back gently and pump the lever until firm. Rinsing salt off the caliper after rides keeps it working smoothly until spring. A garage with some ventilation also helps, as moisture trapped under a cover promotes rust on the disc.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato records the AGPA72 as the Street Twin front pad for 2016 to 2021, under the name Street 900 Twin. Because the AGPA112 is also listed for 2019 to 2024, bikes from 2019 to 2021 appear under both; check your existing pads before buying. A single box covers the one front caliper. At the back Accossato lists the AGPA76 for 2016 to 2025.

Road Approval

Neither test reports nor a German ABE are available to us for this pad. It is listed for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery
