DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato PRS 14x17-18-19 radial brake master cylinder brings the adjustable, three-position lever ratio used on Accossato's larger PRS models down to the 14 mm piston size recommended for scooters and other small-bore machines. Rather than committing to one fixed pivot distance, the lever can be set to 17, 18 or 19 mm depending on whether the owner wants a lighter, longer-stroke action or a shorter, firmer one. It is supplied with a folding lever, long version, with relieving eyelet.
Key Features
- 14 mm piston diameter, suggested by Accossato for scooters and small-bore machines
- Pivot distance adjustable in three steps: 17, 18 or 19 mm
- Folding lever, long version, fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that reduces master cylinder deflection during braking
- Passive lever stroke cut by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial unit
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
This master cylinder is CNC-machined from an aluminium billet in Italy and finished with a natural anodised surface. Stainless steel mounting screws, a galvanised steel bleed valve and seals made from Formula 1 compound make up the hardware, specified to resist heat and ongoing contact with brake fluid. An offset riser built into the clamp limits flex when the lever is pulled hard, and the passive stroke before the pads make contact is reduced by more than half compared with a standard radial master cylinder.
Adjustable Lever Ratio on a Scooter-Sized Piston
On a 14 mm piston, the lightest braking effort comes with the pivot distance set to 17 mm, giving a longer stroke that suits relaxed, everyday riding; moving to 19 mm shortens the stroke and firms the pull for a sportier feel, with 18 mm as the middle ground. Because the adjustment lives entirely in the lever, it can be changed in minutes without fitting different parts, which matters on small-bore and commuter-style machines that are frequently shared between riders of different strength and experience.
Fitment and Compatibility
Fitment is confirmed for 36 motorcycles, mostly small-displacement naked, scrambler and learner-focused models, including the Honda MSX125, KTM 390 Duke, Kawasaki Ninja 400, Triumph Street Twin, Moto Guzzi V7 III Stone and Yamaha MT-03. Several KTM, Honda and Moto Guzzi variants are covered across different production years, so the Fitment tab should be checked for the exact range per model. Confirm single-disc braking on any machine not listed.
Road Approval
This master cylinder has no ABE documented; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The box contains the Accossato radial brake master cylinder itself, assembled and ready to fit, together with its mounting hardware. A brake light switch is not included and can be ordered separately under part number ID001 or ID002. A fluid reservoir is likewise not included and is sold separately in several styles to suit different handlebar layouts.
