DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fallen trees turn up in most serious enduros, and getting a Yamaha WR250F over one cleanly is mostly a matter of clutch timing. A short, sharp release lifts the front wheel onto the log, and a second one drives the rear over it. Accossato's C7165 is a folding clutch lever for the WR250F from 2005 to 2022. It is CNC-machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, has a long blade for four fingers and a joint that allows the blade to fold forward when a log crossing goes wrong.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the Yamaha WR250F, 2005 to 2022

- Long blade designed for four fingers
- Blade can fold forward on the anti-break joint
- Machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Black, blue or green blade on a dark base
- No German ABE documented; for off-road and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Each part of the C7165 has its own job. The base, finished dark, stays fixed at the pivot of the original clutch mount and carries the joint. The blade, in black, blue or green, is what your fingers pull, and it is the part that can fold away on that joint in a fall. Both are machined on CNC equipment in Italy from solid Ergal 7075, the high-strength aluminium alloy Accossato uses to combine strength, low weight and reliability. The clutch blade is the longer of Accossato's two off-road lever types, laid out for four fingers.
Over the Log
The technique for a log is simple to describe and hard to master. Approach square at walking pace in second gear, stand with the knees bent, and just before the front tyre reaches the log, blip the throttle while letting the clutch out sharply so that the front wheel lifts onto it. As the bash plate touches the top, shift your weight forward, unload the rear and give a second, smaller burst of drive so that the back wheel climbs after. The clutch does most of the work, and the timing matters more than the power.
Getting it wrong is part of learning. The front wheel slides off a wet log, the WR250F stops dead with the sump on the bark, and the bike tips to one side. If it goes left, the clutch lever strikes the log or the ground beside it. The joint on the C7165 gives the blade a chance to fold forward instead of breaking, so you may well lift the bike, back up and try again with the same lever. There is no promise it survives every attempt, but it takes some of the cost out of practising the move.
Fitment and Compatibility
The C7165 is listed by Accossato for the Yamaha WR250F from 2005 to 2022, where it replaces the original clutch lever at the stock mount. Its partner, the B8262 folding brake lever, covers the same model years. Black, blue and green are offered on both levers; gold exists only on the brake side.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for this clutch lever. For a road-registered WR250F, that means the C7165 is not approved on public roads; it belongs off-road and in competition.
