DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro took the retro racing shape of MV Agusta's three-cylinder Superveloce and fitted it with the four-cylinder engine of the brand's top models, as a limited edition for 2024. For most owners, the story starts with a brand-new machine, and a new machine has a running-in period that includes its brakes. The Accossato EDF099 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for this bike, with adjustable reach and three blade lengths, and fitting it at the start means the hand and the brakes get to know each other together.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro, model year 2024
- Replaces the stock lever on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjuster close to the pivot
- Blade lengths: short, standard (approximately 138 mm) and long
- Seven blade colours on a black hub
- Milled from solid aluminium and anodised
- Fixed blade without a folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3 are where Accossato built up its experience with brake discs. The EDF099 lever is a machined part: cut from solid aluminium, then anodised with a black hub and a blade in the colour you choose. The hub holds the pivot bore and the adjuster that sets the distance to the grip. Because the anodised layer is formed from the aluminium, the finish is harder than the metal beneath and has no paint film that could flake. Nothing on this lever hinges; it is fixed along its whole length.
The First Few Hundred Kilometres
Manufacturers generally ask for the first few hundred kilometres to be ridden gently, and the brakes are part of that. New pads and discs need time to bed in, and until they have, the bite can feel different from how it will feel later. Moderate, progressive stops help the process, while repeated hard braking is better saved for later. That is a good reason to fit the EDF099 at the start rather than after a season: the reach can be set once, in your riding gloves and in the tucked position the Superveloce 1000's clip-ons ask for, and the hand learns the new lever while the brakes themselves are settling in. By the end of the running-in, lever position and brake feel have become familiar together. MV Agusta's own instructions in the owner's manual take precedence over any general advice given here. Owners who plan track days later will probably choose the short blade, in silver, blue, gold, green or orange, for braking with two fingers; for road riding on the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro, the standard length stays closest to the original lever.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF099 for the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro in 2024, where it appears as Superveloce 1000 Oro. The lever replaces the original part on the front brake master cylinder. No Accossato clutch lever is named for this model. The three-cylinder Superveloce 800 is a different motorcycle and has its own listings in our range.
Road Approval
This lever lacks a documented German ABE and is therefore sold for the track.
