DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Hypermotard 698 Mono is Ducati's single-cylinder supermoto, with an engine derived from the Superquadro twin of the Panigale and a light, narrow chassis built around it. Many of these bikes also end up on kart circuits, where a lap is short and the braking points come one after another. The Accossato EDF099 replaces the original front brake lever of the 2024 to 2026 Hypermotard 698 Mono with a CNC-machined aluminium lever whose distance from the grip can be adjusted.

Key Features

  • Front brake lever for the Hypermotard 698 Mono, 2024 to 2026
  • Mounts on the original Ducati master cylinder
  • Reach to the grip adjustable
  • Standard approximately 138 mm, short and long in selected colours
  • Machined from solid aluminium, anodised
  • Black hub; blade in one of seven colours
  • Rigid lever without a folding joint
  • Sold for track use, no German ABE documented

Construction and Material Quality

On a short circuit a brake lever works hard, dozens of times per session, and what you want from it is the same response every time. Accossato mills the EDF099 from a solid aluminium blank on CNC machines, a process that turns out parts which match each other closely, and anodises it afterwards. The black hub is where the lever turns and where its reach is set; the blade, in the colour you order, continues from it without a break. With no hinge in the middle, there is nothing in the lever that loosens as the laps add up.

Short Laps, Many Braking Points

A kart track compresses a whole road ride into about a minute. Straights are short, the hairpins arrive quickly, and on a Hypermotard 698 Mono the front brake is in use more often than on almost any other kind of circuit. That rhythm rewards a lever set so that the fingers go from throttle to brake without wasted movement. Many supermoto riders brake with one or two fingers and keep the rest on the grip, which is why the short blade is popular on bikes like this: it ends before the outer fingers and leaves them room on the throttle.

Set the reach at the track, in the gloves you ride in, after a few laps, when the hands are warm and you know how hard you are braking into each turn. The short blade is made in blue, gold, green, orange and silver.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the EDF099 for the Hypermotard 698 Mono from 2024 to 2026, where the model appears as Hypermotard 698. This entry is for the single-cylinder model only; the twin-cylinder Hypermotards are sold here as separate products.

Road Approval

Accossato provides no German ABE for this lever. We sell it for use on the track.

Scope of Delivery
