Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Ducati Hyperstrada 821 (2013–2015) CM61S

The Hyperstrada is a Hypermotard that was sent touring — panniers, a screen, a taller seat and a bigger tank bolted onto a supermoto chassis. That combination puts the 821 twin under a kind of load the standard bike rarely sees: not brief violent bursts but sustained high throttle with luggage and often a pillion, for hours at a time. The Sprint Filter P08 CM61S is a dry polyester element with roughly double the filtering surface, which is the property that counts when the demand is continuous rather than momentary.

Loaded is a different engine

Panniers and a passenger raise the throttle opening needed for any given speed, and the engine's demand for air goes up with it. That is precisely the condition in which a partly loaded filter starts to matter, because the pressure drop across a restricted element scales with flow. A supermoto engine carrying touring weight is working nearer its limits than the same engine in the naked bike — the margin that hides a tired filter is simply not there.

Nothing extra to carry

Because the element is cleaned rather than replaced, there is no spare in the pannier and no filter oil. Out, blown through from the clean side with any available air line, back in dry — the same five minutes at a fuel station as in a workshop.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air from the clean side outwards. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame. Refit dry. Sprint Filter's maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
