The 1077 cc Decision
Aprilia enlarged the Tuono's V4 in 2015 while leaving the RSV4 at a litre. The extra capacity went to torque, and it made the naked bike the quicker of the two on any road with corners in it.
No Fairing, No Shelter
The controls on a Tuono sit in the airflow and in whatever the road throws forward. Rain arrives at the switch block directly rather than being deflected, and it stays there for the length of the journey.
Which Year, Which Block
The pre-2017 control layout takes this part number. Aprilia changed the left-hand unit for the later bikes and the replacement is a different casting, so the model year is worth confirming first.
Cruise Through a Town
A Tuono spends more time at junctions than an RSV4 ever will. Indicators get used dozens of times in a morning, and the switch that cancels them is the one an owner notices when its feel goes soft.
Machined and Enclosed
One block of Ergal with the elements sealed inside. There is no moulded joint anywhere, which on a motorcycle that offers its cockpit no protection at all is the property that decides longevity.
Two Anodised Finishes
Black and titanium, converted into the metal. On a naked bike the bar is visible from outside as well as from the saddle, and neither finish looks like an accessory.
Aprilia's Own Connector
Pre-wired, so nothing is cut and nothing is extended. The old block unplugs and this one takes its place with no configuration afterwards.
