JP ABSY 002 is bought for that, and for one other reason: the ABS control unit on these is expensive enough that a failure can be worth more than the scooter.

Key Features

For the Yamaha CZD300-A X-MAX 300, 2017–2024

Simulates the ABS and traction control module

No ABS warning light and no stored fault

Plug-and-play on the factory connector

Allows the ABS unit to be removed for competition use

Original unit refits without modification

Why Anyone Removes It

Two reasons, and they are very different. In scooter racing the ABS pump is weight and a component that interferes with how a rider wants the brakes to behave on a circuit. On the road, owners meet this part after an ABS unit fails, when the replacement cost against the scooter's value makes repair look absurd. The first reason is legitimate. The second is not, and is dealt with below.

What the Module Does

The control unit reads both wheel speed sensors and modulates brake pressure when it detects a wheel locking. On this model it also handles traction control. Unplug it and the dash reports a fault and lights the ABS lamp permanently. This eliminator supplies the signals the system expects so the machine runs without those warnings.

Braking Changes Completely

This is not a subtle modification. Without ABS, a locked front wheel on a scooter with small contact patches and a high centre of mass ends one way. Anyone fitting this needs to be certain they can brake without it, on a machine that was designed on the assumption they would not have to.

Fitment

Yamaha CZD300-A X-MAX 300 (2017–2024)

Road Approval

None, and this is not the same kind of "none" as a side stand switch. ABS has been compulsory on every new motorcycle and scooter above 125 cc sold in the EU since 1 January 2016, and an X-MAX built after that date was homologated with it. Take it out and the machine is outside its type approval and cannot lawfully be ridden on a public road. Closed circuits and competition only.

Specifications

Brand: JetPrime

Part number: JP ABSY 002

Type: ABS and Traction Control Eliminator

Function: Simulates the ABS and traction control module

Installation: plug-and-play, no modification to the original wiring

Fitment: Yamaha CZD300-A X-MAX 300 (2017–2024)

Road approval: none — closed-circuit and competition use only, see notes above

https://inter-pace.com/en-ie/products/jetprime-abs-and-traction-control-eliminator-yamaha-czd300-a-x-max-absy-002
