DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Touring version of the Multistrada 950 is aimed at riders who pack for longer trips. Loaded with cases and perhaps a passenger, the bike asks noticeably more of its rear brake than on a solo ride, and the small rear reservoir deserves attention before departure. Reading it correctly starts with how the bike stands. Accossato lists the TS014 for the Multistrada 950 Touring of 2017 and 2018: a rear brake fluid reservoir cap, CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Ducati Multistrada 950, 2017 to 2018
- Listed by Accossato for the 950 Touring
- Designed for the original rear reservoir
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Seven colours: gold, silver, black, red, orange, blue, green
- Completes the set with FP004, FP007 and TS003
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Anodising gives the TS014 its colour, gold, silver, black, red, orange, blue or green, after the aluminium cap has been shaped by CNC machining. Accossato makes it for the original rear reservoir of the listed motorcycles, so the rear brake of the Multistrada 950 keeps its factory reservoir, hose and master cylinder. When the old cap is removed, examine the diaphragm or seal beneath it; if it has hardened, split or lost its shape, fit a new one.
A Rear Brake for Luggage and a Passenger
With cases, luggage and a passenger, the rear brake of a Multistrada 950 plays a bigger part in every stop, and on long descents it helps keep the loaded bike steady. Before a trip, check its reservoir with care. A reading on the side stand is misleading, because the reservoir tilts with the bike; hold the bike upright or, if it has a centre stand, use it, so that the reservoir sits level. The fluid should then lie between the marks. If the level is low, find out why before topping up: worn pads let it sink gradually, while a sudden drop points to a leak. Look at the colour as well, and if the last renewal is older than the owner's manual allows, have the fluid changed before departure; a new cap does not replace that. The TS014 can go on in the same session. Cover the paint and the plastic parts around the reservoir, keep water ready because brake fluid damages paint, and open the reservoir only briefly, since the fluid absorbs moisture. Tighten the cap gently. Then press the pedal several times at a standstill, load the cases and try a few gentle stops close to home before the real journey begins.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list names the Multistrada 950 Touring of 2017 and 2018 for the TS014, fitted to its original rear reservoir. Other versions of the 950 do not appear for this cap, so compare their reservoir with the application list before ordering. At Inter-Pace the same cap is also catalogued for the Monster 797, the Hyperstrada 939 and the Monster 821. The FP004 oil filler cap, the FP007 clutch cover and the TS003 front reservoir cap complete Accossato's range for the Multistrada 950.
Road Approval
No ABE or test certificate exists for the TS014 in our files, so it is listed for racing and competition use.
