DescriptionThe whole story▼
Triumph built the Daytona 675 R from 2011 as the track-focused version of its triple, with higher-specification suspension and brakes. Owners take it to circuits, and at a circuit a brake lever has two jobs: to feel the same in every session, and to be quick to replace if the day ends in the gravel. The Accossato EDF099 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the 2011 to 2017 Daytona 675 R, with an adjustable reach and a choice of short, standard and long blades.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Daytona 675 R, 2011 to 2017
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjuster close to the pivot
- Short blade for two-finger track braking, standard of approximately 138 mm, or long
- Machined from aluminium, anodised
- Seven colours with a black hub
- Fixed blade without a folding joint
- No German ABE documented, for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's braking know-how comes from racing: its experience with brake discs was built up in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3. The EDF099 is machined from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodised, with a black hub and a blade in red, green, gold, black, silver, orange or blue. It is a fixed lever, a single piece without a folding joint, so the feel at the lever does not change as the sessions add up. Machining also gives every lever the same shape, which becomes useful when you need a second one.
A Fixed Lever on Track Days
A fixed lever has clear advantages at a circuit: no hinge that can work loose, no spring, no play building up over a season of hard stops. The honest counterpart is that a fixed lever can bend or break in a crash, just as the original would. Many track riders deal with that simply by keeping a second lever in the van, in the same length and ideally the same colour, so a slide into the gravel does not end the weekend. Note the adjuster setting you use, and the spare can be set identically in the paddock within minutes. As for the lever itself, the short blade is the usual track choice on a 675 R, since it leaves the ring and little fingers on the throttle while two fingers brake; it exists in silver, green, blue, orange and gold.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Daytona 675 R, Accossato gives 2011 to 2017 as the years for the EDF099, including the entry it calls 675 R Triple for 2013 to 2017. The lever mounts on the original master cylinder of the R and replaces the stock blade. For the clutch side of the same bike, Accossato lists the EST333, also from 2011 to 2017, which can be ordered in a matching colour.
Road Approval
Without a documented German ABE, this lever is sold for use at the track only.
