The Moto2 silencer, in its racing listing. Spark sells the Grid-O for the Euro5+ Z900 twice — once with a homologation and once without — and here is the unusual part: both cost exactly the same.
Key Features
- Racing slip-on for the Kawasaki Z900, 2025 to 2026.
- Grid-O silencer: full titanium, with integrated outlet grid.
- The same silencer used in Moto2 by Bastianini, 2020 world champion.
- Carbon fibre heat shield on the pipe.
- Titanium develops its characteristic bluish tones with use.
- No homologation — same list price as the approved version.
Same Price, One Fewer Document
This is worth saying plainly because it changes the recommendation. Spark lists this racing slip-on and the Euro5+ homologated GKA0908TOM at the same money. The silencer is the same case, the same titanium, the same grid, the same heat shield.
So for a motorcycle used on public roads there is no argument for this number at all — the approved one costs the same and can be ridden legally. Buy this one only if the approval is genuinely irrelevant to you.
Where That Is Actually True
Two situations. A dedicated track motorcycle that will not be registered again, where a certificate is dead weight in a folder. And a market outside the EU, where a Euro5+ homologation carries no legal force in the first place.
Spark maintains both listings because it sells into both. That is a supply decision rather than a product one, and it is the reason the prices match.
The Case Itself
The Grid-O is full titanium with the perforated grid across the outlet — the visual signature of Spark's racing silencers and the same case Enea Bastianini rode to the 2020 Moto2 title.
Spark states what the material will do: exposure to exhaust heat gives the titanium its characteristic bluish tones, starting at the front of the case. It is permanent and it is generally the reason people choose titanium in the first place. The carbon fibre heat shield for the connecting pipe is supplied.
What the Grid Actually Is
The perforated titanium grid sits across the outlet and it is not decoration. On a race silencer the grid holds the packing in place at the exit, where gas velocity is highest and where absorbent material would otherwise be blown out over time.
Spark leaves it visible because on a racing part there is no reason to hide it. On a Z900 it is also the one feature that identifies the silencer from behind at any distance.
Weight, and Where It Comes From
Spark quotes 1.7 kg for its Euro5+ Z900 slip-ons against a 4.3 kg standard silencer. That is two and a half kilos off the tail of the motorcycle, low and to one side, well behind the centre of mass.
It is the least useful position weight can occupy on a naked bike, which is why removing it is felt at every change of direction rather than only on the scales.
Fitment & Compatibility
Kawasaki Z900, 2025 through 2026. The Euro5+ homologated version, at the same price, is GKA0908TOM. The Konix Evo slip-ons are GKA0907TOM, GKA0907DOM and GKA0907T. Spark's limited edition titanium racing collector is GKA8503.
Road Approval
None. This is the racing listing and carries no homologation. Closed circuits and private land only.
