Total Black, and Spark Says So

The phrase on Spark's own page is for total black lovers, which is unusually direct for a manufacturer. This is not a performance variant or a lighter one — it is the same silencer with a different surface, sold to people who want the exhaust to disappear.

On a Tiger 900 that works, because Triumph already finishes the frame, the swingarm and most of the bodywork dark. What stays visible is the carbon cap, whose weave catches light even against black.

Ceramic on Titanium

The treatment is bonded to the titanium rather than sprayed onto it, which is why the weight does not change and only one letter of the article number does. High-temperature paint browns at the hot end after a season or two; a bonded ceramic layer does not.

It is not, however, abrasion-proof. Cutting polish, scouring pads and the harsher wheel cleaners all remove material, and this is a surface you do not want material removed from.

Keeping It Black

Warm water and a soft cloth. Road salt and brake dust come off easily as long as they are not left through a winter, and nothing abrasive should touch the case at all.

What Is Replaced

The silencer only. Manifold and catalytic converter stay standard — the approval is written around that configuration, and it is why no remap is needed after fitting.

Made in Italy

Spark manufactures in Mantova, and the ceramic treatment is applied there too rather than bought in. On a coated part that matters: a finish is only as good as the process control behind it.
