The Superbike's Frame
Aprilia used the RSV4's chassis unaltered, including the adjustable headstock and swingarm pivot, and simply fitted handlebars. It is why the original Tuono handled like nothing else in the naked class in 2011.
A Hundred and Sixty-Seven Horsepower
The 999.6 cc V4 was retuned with different camshafts and fixed intake lengths to move power down the range. It was still, in 2011, one of the most powerful naked motorcycles anyone had built.
Offset Holes
The staggered pattern fits the original master cylinder clamp. Bikes of this age have often had the brake assembly changed at some point, and those need the universal version instead.
Age and Switchgear
These motorcycles are now well over a decade old. The moulded blocks reach the point where one function works when it feels like it, and Aprilia's answer is a complete assembly rather than a contact.
Four Anodised Colours
Black, blue, red and titanium. On a bike this old, an anodised finish is the one part of the cockpit that will still look new when the printed legends elsewhere have gone.
Sealed Inside
The switch elements are enclosed within the machined body rather than sitting behind a clipped cover. On a fourteen-year-old motorcycle that has been through as many winters, that is the whole argument.
Aprilia's Connector
Pre-wired to the original plug, which has not changed across the generation. The job is two screws and one connector and takes about as long as it sounds.
The Trumpets That Do Not Move
The first Tuono used fixed intake lengths where the RSV4 had variable ones, chosen to fill the midrange rather than chase the last horsepower. It is the clearest single sign that Aprilia knew what it was building this bike for.
