The JP ACC AP009 shortens the RS 660's throttle rotation to sixty degrees, which is the difference between reaching full opening comfortably and running out of wrist.

Half of a V4
The 659 cc parallel twin shares its bore and stroke with one bank of the RSV4, which is why it revs the way it does. It was Aprilia's first attempt at a light sports bike in a decade and it landed.
Not a Power Part
Nothing about the engine changes. The same opening produces the same air, and the only difference is how far the hand has to travel to ask for it.
Which Tool
Whatever reads the engine controller on that model. A dealer does it in minutes; an owner with the right interface does it on the bench.
No Re-Gripping
On a bike with a long standard rotation the wrist runs out of travel and the hand has to shuffle. That shuffle is the thing this removes.
Two Riders, One Bike
A short-stroke throttle is a preference rather than an improvement. A bike shared between a track rider and a commuter is an argument for keeping the standard part reachable.
Track Days
Repeated hard exits from slow corners are where a long throttle sweep costs time and comfort. That is the situation this part was drawn for.
A Component That Reports
The grip's only output is an angle. Everything a rider feels afterwards is the controller's interpretation of that angle through whichever mode is selected.
Why the Reset Exists
The controller stores what a released throttle looks like as a voltage, and every decision at small openings is measured from that number. Change the assembly and the stored figure belongs to a component no longer fitted. The learn routine tells it to look again.
Small Screws, Aluminium Threads
The clamp fasteners are short, they thread into a light alloy and they hold a control that matters. The figures are low and looking them up takes a minute. Stripping one turns a straightforward afternoon into a repair nobody planned.
