An Entirely New Engine
Ducati replaced the Superquadro with an 890 cc V2 designed from scratch. It makes 120 horsepower, weighs considerably less and was drawn for road riders rather than for a homologation rulebook.
A Hundred and Seventy-Six Kilograms
Dry. The new V2 is the lightest Panigale Ducati has built and the difference is felt everywhere rather than only on a stopwatch.
Either Master Cylinder
The universal slots take the original assembly and the radial replacements alike. A V2 heading for track days has usually been changed at the lever end already.
Working Beside a Lever
The right hand holds the brake and rolls the throttle simultaneously. Whatever else sits there must be reachable without loosening either grip, which is what the race arrangement is drawn around.
The Wash Bay
A hot jet twenty minutes after a session, on a warm motorcycle. It ends more switchgear than mileage ever has and a machined body gives it no joint to find.
Stripped Between Rounds
A bike used at circuits comes apart repeatedly. A body cut from solid tolerates that indefinitely where a clipped moulded one gradually stops sitting tightly.
Road Layout Returns
Nothing spliced, so the standard block refits in twenty minutes. A V2 sold to a road rider afterwards shows no evidence of its circuit career.
A Superbike That Fits
Ducati narrowed the tank, lowered the seat and softened the riding position. The new V2 is aimed squarely at people who found a Panigale physically punishing rather than merely fast.
Variable Valve Timing on the Intake
The 890 uses a variable timing system to broaden the usable band. On a middleweight twin that matters more than another five horsepower at the top would.
