The JP KS AP009 removes the RSV4 RR's key barrel and the weight that goes with it, which on a race-prepared machine is a straightforward trade.

The One People Rode
Conventional suspension and the same engine made the RR the version that ended up on club grids rather than in collections. Preparation on these is routine work.
IP69K
The rating covers high-pressure, high-temperature washing. A switch sitting in the open above the front wheel needs it and most switches do not have it.
The Button
A single sealed push button doing what the key did: arm the ignition, then kill it. There is nothing else to learn about operating it.
A Sealed Unit
Everything electrical inside is closed against water and vibration, which is what separates this from a switch bought by the metre.
The Push Button Itself
Sealed to IP69K, which is the rating for high-pressure hot-water washing. Motorcycles that live on trailers meet a lot of that.
Aluminium, Cut and Anodised
The body is machined from a 7000 series alloy and the finish converted into it. Nothing is bonded on that can lift at an edge.
Sealed Against a Pressure Washer
The IP69K rating is specifically about close-range hot water at pressure, which is precisely how a race bike gets cleaned on a Sunday evening.
Position on the Yoke
The new body occupies the same footprint, so the tank, the top clamp and the instruments all keep their relationship to each other.
What a Seized Barrel Looks Like
A key that needs persuading in the cold and eventually will not turn at all. It is a winter failure and it happens to machines that stand.
The Fitting, Start to Finish
Tank or cover off to reach the loom, the ignition connector unplugged, two fasteners out of the top yoke, the block lifted away and the new body bolted into the same holes. Twenty minutes on most machines and no part of it needs the front end disturbed.
