DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 047 strips the Trident 660's vapour canister and its plumbing off the motorcycle for good.
Key Features
- Triumph Trident 660 (2021–2025)
- Removes the evaporative canister and its hoses
- Vents the tank through a proper fitting
- Closes the purge valve circuit
- Clears the space behind the engine
- Standard parts refit at any time
Available Restricted
An A2 version keeps the Trident within a restricted licence without an electronic strangle, which is why it sells so well to riders moving up.
A Combined Display
An analogue-style bar and a colour panel together, which is unusual and considerably more legible than the all-digital alternatives.
Reversible
Vessel, bracket and hoses all refit in their original positions, so an inspection or a sale can be answered with the standard arrangement back in place.
Keep the Parts
The vessel and bracket take almost no space in storage, and having them is the whole cost of being able to change your mind later.
Chafing on a Trail Bike
Lines running behind the engine rub against brackets on rough ground, and a split vapour hose is a fuel smell and a fault code in an awkward place.
The Full Removal, Step by Step
Seat off, tank lifted, hoses freed at both ends, bracket unbolted, vessel out, vent fitting installed, purge circuit answered, everything back together. It is longer to list than to do and the only awkward part is access.
Legal, Not Technical
The obstacle to removing evaporative control is regulatory rather than mechanical. The motorcycle runs perfectly well without it and always would have.
A Job That Suits an Amateur
No specialist tooling, no diagnostic access and no manufacturer software. Anybody comfortable removing a seat and a tank can complete the whole thing in an evening.
A Bike Kept Outside
Sun, temperature swings and a full tank between rides. Every one of those works the evaporative system harder than riding does.
A Price Nobody Expected
Triumph launched the Trident well below where the market assumed a British three-cylinder roadster would sit, and did it without the obvious corners being cut. It reset expectations for the class and forced several rivals into an awkward conversation.
