The JP ES 002 clears the charcoal canister out of the Panigale V4 R and provides the tank vent that has to replace it, which is the part nobody should improvise.

Nine Hundred and Ninety-Eight Cubic Centimetres
Ducati reduced the capacity to satisfy World Superbike rules, which is the only reason the R exists. Everything else follows from that single requirement.

Mechanical first, electrical last. Fitting the circuit answer before the vessel is out simply means testing twice and arriving at the same place.
Emissions Approval
Evaporative control forms part of the motorcycle's type approval in the markets where it is fitted. Removing it puts the machine outside road specification there until the parts return, which is a legal question rather than a technical one and worth settling before ordering.
What a Saturated Canister Smells Like
Raw fuel, strongest in a closed garage a few hours after the motorcycle has been parked warm. It is the most reliable sign that the charcoal has stopped absorbing, and once it has, it does not recover. Replacing the canister costs considerably more than removing it.
