DescriptionThe whole story▼
IN2602K holds the right-hand flank of the Gen 7 race bodywork on the 2026 ZX-10R. It is a stainless bracket with a printed protection insert, and it is the exhaust-side counterpart to IN2601K.
Key Features
- Stainless construction on the side of the bike that runs hottest
- Printed insert at the contact face so the panel never bears on bare steel
- Carries the CK26232 right side panel and provides its quick-release point
- Single right-hand bracket, sold individually
- Inexpensive enough to hold as a spare
The Side That Gets Hot
Choosing stainless for a small bracket looks like overspecification until you notice where this one lives. The right flank of a superbike sits above the collector and the silencer, and a plated mild steel bracket in that position will lose its coating to heat and then rust from the fastener holes outward, seizing the very fixing that is supposed to make the panel quick to remove. Stainless simply removes the failure mode.
The Protector Is a Wear Item
The printed insert is meant to be sacrificial, and it should be looked at as such. Take the panel off at the end of a meeting and check the bearing face: a protector that has gone shiny and slightly flattened is still working, one that has taken a set or split at an edge is letting the panel move against steel. Replacing it is a fraction of the cost of a cracked flank, and it is the sort of thing that only gets noticed if someone deliberately looks.
Fitting Note
Set both brackets before hanging either panel. The flanks locate on the brackets first and are then closed with their quarter-turn fasteners, so a bracket adjusted after the panel is on will pull the moulding out of line at the top edge.
Fitment
For the 2026 Kawasaki ZX-10 R and ZX-10 RR, right-hand side. The left-hand bracket is IN2601K.
