A race tail that flexes under the rider is not merely uncomfortable; it moves the point the rider is bracing against, and that arrives as vagueness at exactly the wrong moment. CK22310 is the piece that stops it. The support sits beneath the CK22300 seat unit and ties it into the subframe so the load a rider puts through the tail is spread rather than concentrated at the mounting bolts.

Load Paths in a Composite Tail
Carbon takes tension and compression extremely well and point loads rather badly. Bolt a tail directly to a subframe and every kilo the rider puts through it arrives at a handful of holes, each of which becomes a stress concentration in a brittle laminate. The classic result is a crack radiating from one fastener after a season, long after anyone remembers the crash that started it. A support spreads the same load over a broad bearing surface, which is why it is a structural component and not a bracket.
Carbon for a Part Nobody Sees
It is fair to ask why a hidden support is made from carbon at all, when steel would be cheaper and nobody would ever look at it. The answer is stiffness per gram. This part exists to resist bending, and the amount it bends under a given load depends on the material's stiffness and on how deep the section is. Carbon lets Carbonin build a deep, stiff section that still weighs very little — which matters because the part sits high and well behind the machine's centre, the worst place on a motorcycle to add mass.

The support goes in before the tail is closed up and before the foam is fitted, together with the IN2201K bracket. It is quiet, unglamorous, and the reason the visible parts last.
