Anyone who has changed two things at once and then tried to work out which of them helped knows why riders test methodically. The AGPA106ZXC gives the owner of a Ducati Multistrada 1260 something to test: the ZXC ceramic racing material on the same AGPA106 front pad the bike takes in its other versions, described by Accossato as a ceramic compound for racing. The front listing runs for the 2018 season, and the pad is a straightforward swap for anyone already running one of the alternatives.

Construction and Material Quality
A ceramic compound is a different mixture, not a higher grade, and the catalogue treats it that way: the ZXC ceramic racing material appears next to the other competition article with the same short note about its intended use. Since all the versions are pressed onto the AGPA106 plate, none of them asks anything different of the caliper, and an afternoon is enough to try one against another. That interchangeability is why riders can form their own opinion instead of taking a description on trust.
Comparing Two Materials in One Day
A fair comparison needs everything else to stand still. The same tyres at the same pressures, a similar amount of fuel in the tank, the same stretch of circuit or closed road, and ideally the same weather, which is the part nobody controls. Ride a reference session first and note what the lever feels like at the end of it rather than at the beginning, because the differences between compounds appear when they are hot and busy, not on the first gentle stop of the morning.
Then change one thing. Put both front calipers onto the new material rather than one of them, since a Multistrada 1260 with different compounds on either side of the wheel will teach you nothing useful and may pull under heavy use. Bed the new set in over a few laps, run the same session again, and write down what you found before the drive home, while the memory is still specific rather than a general impression.
Fitment and Compatibility
The front entry covers the Multistrada 1260 for 2018 and puts the pad on the front wheel, where two calipers each take a set. Note the difference between the two ends of the catalogue for this model: the rear pad is listed from 2018 all the way to 2021, while the front stops at 2018. Owners of a later machine should identify the part fitted before ordering. The AGPA29 serves the rear of the 1260 and the DKS053 is the disc listed for it.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE and no German test report for the AGPA106ZXC, so it is offered for competition use on closed courses and at organised events.
