DescriptionThe whole story▼
The V7 II Stone is a compact motorcycle, and taller riders with large hands sometimes find its controls a little close. A clutch lever that sits too near the grip leaves long fingers cramped, and a full pull can trap the knuckles of the fingers still holding the bar. The Accossato ESD037 is a clutch lever for the V7 II Stone of 2015 and 2016. It goes on the original clutch mounting, is CNC-machined from aluminium, and its reach can be set so the blade sits where a large hand works comfortably.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Moto Guzzi V7 II Stone (ABS 750), 2015 to 2016
- Mounts at the original clutch mounting
- Reach adjustable outwards for large hands, inwards for small ones
- Long blade in blue, gold, green and orange
- Standard length about 138 mm in every colour
- Anodised aluminium with a black hub
- Fixed one-piece blade
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
CNC milling from solid aluminium gives the ESD037 its shape; anodising gives it its finish, black on the hub and coloured on the blade. The pivot and reach adjuster are in the hub, and the blade runs from there as one fixed piece, with no hinge. The anodised layer is hard-wearing, so the spot where your fingers rest every day does not wear through to bare metal as quickly as a painted lever would.
Large Hands on a Compact Bike
Riders with long fingers often face the opposite problem to those with small hands: the clutch lever meets the fingers too early, so they operate it with the middle of the finger rather than the first joint, and the fingers left on the grip get in the way at full pull. On the V7 II Stone, move the ESD037 further from the grip until the fingers wrap around the blade naturally with the hand in its normal riding position. Then pull the lever fully and check that nothing is pinched between blade and grip. A long blade, made in blue, gold, green and orange, gives four large fingers more room and adds leverage, while the standard length, available in all seven colours, stays closest to the feel of the original. Tall riders also tend to sit further back on the V7 II Stone, which straightens the arms; with the reach adjusted, the hand does the work instead of the stretched arm.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESD037 is catalogued by Accossato under the name V7 750 Stone; for the V7 II Stone, our product covers 2015 and 2016. It replaces the original lever at the clutch mounting. Accossato's brake lever for the same bike, the EDF016, runs one year longer, to 2017. Black and red are standard-length only, and silver comes in standard and short.
Road Approval
No German ABE has been documented for this clutch lever; its intended place is the racetrack.
