Seven and a half kilos. That is what comes off a 2015 to 2018 S1000RR when its 10,4 kg exhaust is replaced by 2,9 kg of titanium — and it is the largest saving of the three systems Spark builds for this motorcycle.
Key Features
- Racing full system for the BMW S1000RR, 2015 to 2018.
- Titanium collector and Moto GP silencer.
- 2,9 kg against 10,4 kg for the standard system.
- 113 dB.
- Current revision uses a silencer without a support bracket.
- Racing part, not approved for road use.
The Lightest and the Loudest
Spark's three systems for this generation sit close on price and far apart on character. This one is the lightest at 2,9 kg and the noisiest at 113 dB.
Those two facts are connected. A Moto GP silencer is a short, wide can, and short cans are both light and loud. If the events you attend measure noise at the gate, the Konix Evo system GBM8811T and the Force system GBM8803T are the ones to look at.
The Bracket Moved
Spark notes a revision that matters when comparing photographs: the current version of this kit uses a silencer with no support bracket on it, because the bracket now sits on the fitting instead.
An older picture of this system therefore shows a silencer that looks different from the one that arrives. Nothing about the mounting changed for the worse — the load path simply moved one component forward.
The Generation Matters
This system is for the 2015 to 2018 S1000RR, the K46 with the asymmetric headlights. It is not the K67 that arrived in 2019 — that machine has a different frame, a different exhaust routing and its own Spark range under the GBM88xx numbers in the 2019-2026 fitment.
Buying across the generation boundary is the most common mistake on this motorcycle, because the model name did not change and the part numbers look similar. Check the year on the papers, not the badge on the tank.
Where the Range Came From
Spark developed its S1000RR exhausts alongside Superstock1000, CIV and British Superbike teams, and the same equipment went to the Isle of Man for the Tourist Trophy. Several teams have used it in the endurance world championship.
What that buys a customer is not glamour — it is that the collector sizing and the structural details behind it were worked out under race loads rather than on a bench.
Titanium Collector, Not Steel
Spark catalogues its S1000RR collectors in both steel and titanium. This system carries the titanium one, which is where most of the seven and a half kilos comes from: the collector is the longest and heaviest section of any four-cylinder exhaust.
Fitment & Compatibility
BMW S1000RR, 2015 to 2018. The Force version with a 350 mm silencer is GBM8803T, the Konix Evo Evo2018 version is GBM8811T. If you want to keep the passenger footrest, the frame bracket SKIT039 is the article that allows it. Older machines from 2009 to 2014 need the SKIT019 mounting kit, which is a different article.
Road Approval
None. Spark lists this system as not approved. Closed course use only.
