Öhlins stamps and grinds its shims to tolerances a general-purpose washer never holds. Revalving means changing the stack, not the piston — that is why shims are sold singly. A shim is a thin steel washer, and a stack of them is what actually generates damping in an Öhlins unit — the oil has to bend them out of the way to pass.

Why the Original

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.

Getting the Number Right

Order under 00530-24. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Check inner diameter 12 mm, outer diameter 24 mm, thickness 0.30 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. A shim is a thin steel washer, and a stack of them is what actually generates damping in an Öhlins unit — the oil has to bend them out of the way to pass. A coned or marked shim is finished — it no longer seals against its neighbour.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00530-24

Category: Shims

Inner Diameter: 12 mm

Outer Diameter: 24 mm

Thickness: 0.30 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00530-24_5d7f1f5e-91ad-4666-bc24-9de62f745617.png?v=1788872124
