The JP ES 011 closes the 690 Duke's sidestand loop so the engine keeps running once the stand has been taken off.

The Safety Loop
Stand, clutch and gear position are wired into one chain. Break any link and the engine stops the moment a gear is selected.
Where the Switch Lives
On the stand bracket, low on the left of the frame, in the path of everything the front wheel throws backwards. It is not a component designed for a long life.
Why the Stand Goes
Track preparation and supermoto conversions both remove it, for ground clearance as much as for weight. The switch cannot stay behind on its own.
What the Bike Does Next
Nothing. The loop reads as broken, the engine cuts in gear, and no other work on the motorcycle can be tested until it is closed again.
Closed Correctly
This unit completes the chain the way the controller expects rather than shorting two terminals together. No fault is stored and nothing appears on the display.
The Largest Production Single
Six hundred and ninety cubic centimetres from one cylinder, at a time when nobody else was building anything close. KTM made it work with two balancer shafts and a great deal of development.
A Supermoto Underneath
The 690 Duke shares its architecture with the enduro and supermoto bikes rather than with any road naked. That is why it turns the way it does.
Five Minutes
One connector near the swingarm pivot, reached without removing bodywork. It is the first job on any preparation list and the fastest.
Nothing Cut
KTM's own plug. The switch refits with the stand whenever the motorcycle goes back to the road.
Leave It on a Street Bike
With a stand still fitted the loop is doing real work. Disabling it turns an easy mistake into a locked rear wheel at a junction.
