DescriptionThe whole story▼
This Ready To Brake clutch master cylinder keeps the 16 mm piston from the 16x16 version but uses the firmer 18 mm pivot, the setting Accossato rates for track use and also recommends for the street, giving a shorter, more positive lever stroke in exchange for a touch more hand effort. It carries the same shark-shaped body, seven-colour folding lever and optional mirror bracket and oil tank as the rest of the clutch-side Ready To Brake parts, and is listed against the same 51 motorcycles in our fitment data as the 16x16.
Key Features
- 16 mm piston diameter for the clutch side of the Ready To Brake range
- 18 mm lever pivot distance, for track use and also recommended for street riding
- Folding lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST), available in seven colours
- Shark-shaped body shared with the brake side of the Ready To Brake range
- Mirror bracket and oil tank selectable through the purchase options
- Offset fixing riser with a quick-release jumper for faster servicing
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
Built on the same line as every Ready To Brake unit, this clutch pump is machined from aluminium in Italy and assembled with stainless steel screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and seals in Formula 1 compound, able to withstand continual heat cycling and clutch fluid contact over normal use. The fixing riser is offset to resist flex when the lever is pulled, and its quick-release jumper lets the pump be detached from the clamp for servicing without breaking the hydraulic seal at the hose.
A Firmer Pivot for the Same Piston
Moving the pivot from 16 mm to 18 mm, without changing the 16 mm piston, shortens the lever travel needed before the clutch disengages but asks for a little more hand force to get there; Accossato rates this 18 mm setting for track use while also recommending it for everyday street riding, which makes it the more versatile choice of the two 16 mm-piston pivots on the clutch side of the Ready To Brake range. Riders who found the 16x16 version's longer stroke too soft under quick gear changes, or who want one clutch pump suited to both commuting and the odd track day, are the better fit for this 18 mm version.
Fitment and Compatibility
This clutch master cylinder is matched to 51 motorcycles in our data, chiefly from BMW, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki, among them the BMW R1250RT (2019-2020), Honda CB1100RS (2017-2017), Kawasaki Versys-X 300 (2017-2017), Suzuki DL1050 V-Strom (2020-2022) and Suzuki SV650X (2018-2018). Exact model years for every confirmed machine sit in the Fitment tab on this page, worth comparing against your own registration before ordering.
Road Approval
This clutch master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato Ready To Brake 16x18 radial clutch master cylinder fitted with a long folding lever and relieving eyelet (RST) in the colour selected, plus the matching mounting nut. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinc-plated bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The mirror bracket and oil tank are selectable through the purchase options and are not included as standard; the fluid reservoir otherwise must be purchased separately.
