DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Panigale 1299 arrived for 2015 with ABS that keeps working when the bike is leaned over in a corner, a function that was still new on superbikes at the time. It changes what a rider can ask of the front brake on a bumpy road or when a bend tightens unexpectedly. Yet all that electronic intelligence acts through the same hydraulic system as ever: lever, fluid, caliper. Accossato's TS003 for the Panigale 1299 of 2015 to 2017 is an aluminium cap for the front brake fluid reservoir, anodised in seven colours.
Key Features
- Front brake fluid reservoir cap for the Ducati Panigale 1299, 2015 to 2017
- Made to replace the cap on the original front reservoir
- CNC-milled aluminium, anodised
- Seven colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- Goes with the FP004 oil cap and the TS012 rear cap
- Check against Accossato's application list before ordering
- No German ABE on file; for the racetrack
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the TS003 from aluminium, milled on CNC machines and anodised in blue, green, black, orange, red, silver or gold. It is shaped for the reservoir that Ducati fitted as standard, so the front brake of the Panigale 1299, ABS included, stays exactly as it left the factory. Under the old cap sits a diaphragm or seal. Check it while you have access, and replace it if it has become brittle or deformed.
Electronics on Top, Hydraulics Underneath
The cornering function of the ABS on the Panigale 1299 can only manage the pressure the rider builds at the lever, and that pressure travels through brake fluid. Fluid in poor condition therefore affects the whole system, however clever the electronics above it may be. The signs are familiar: a lever that feels spongy or comes back further than it used to, and fluid in the reservoir that has darkened. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, and the owner's manual sets a change interval for exactly that reason. Many owners leave the change on an ABS bike to a workshop, and a new cap is no substitute for it. When you fit the TS003 yourself, turn the bars until the reservoir is level, lay a thick cloth over the tank and the fairing, and keep water ready for any drop that reaches the paint. Make sure the level lies between the marks, keep the reservoir open only briefly and tighten the cap gently. Then squeeze the lever a few times at a standstill before the first ride, and on that ride, try a few firm stops in a safe place before you rely on the brake in earnest.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the TS003 for the front brake reservoir of the Panigale 1299 from 2015 to 2017. It replaces the original cap, and the application list decides whether it suits your bike, so compare before ordering. We also catalogue the same cap for the Monster 1200 S, the Hypermotard 821 and the Aprilia Caponord 1200 Rally. For the Panigale 1299, Accossato also makes the FP004 oil filler cap and the TS012 rear reservoir cap, both available in all seven of the TS003's colours.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or other test certificate for the TS003 and therefore offer it for use in racing and on the circuit.
