Key Features
- Öhlins part number 05685-01
- Length 40 mm
- Inner Diameter 24 mm
- Outer Diameter 56.5 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
What It Is
Öhlins gives it as 24 mm, 56.5 mm, 40 mm; nothing about that is approximate. A worn bushing lets the shaft move off centre, and the seal is the next thing to fail. A bushing is a consumable and is replaced at rebuild rather than reused. Both diameters and the length are specification, not approximation.
Original Öhlins Part
Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up.
Getting the Number Right
05685-01 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. The published dimensions are inner diameter 24 mm, outer diameter 56.5 mm, length 40 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Play at a bushing lets the shaft run off centre and the seal wears unevenly. Play at the bushing shows up as a knock over sharp bumps.
Fitting and Setup Service
Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.
