DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 007 takes the PAIR solenoid off the R6 and prevents the fault code that follows.
Key Features
- Yamaha R6 (2006–2022)
- Removes the PAIR secondary air solenoid
- Suppresses the resulting dashboard fault
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
- No cutting and no splicing
- Fully reversible to standard
A Supersport Icon
The R6 defined the 600 class for two decades and Yamaha eventually withdrew it from road sale rather than meet the next emissions standard. It survives as a track-only model.
Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Revs
The redline on a 599 cc four, which is grand prix territory for a production motorcycle. Nothing else in the class ever asked to be worked that hard.
Why the System Comes Off
Secondary air injects oxygen into the exhaust ports and corrupts what the lambda sensor reads. On a bike being mapped properly it is removed before anything else happens.
The Overrun
The banging on a shut throttle is the emissions system rather than a fuelling fault. Removing the air removes the noise without touching a single map value.
A Code at Every Start
The ECU checks the solenoid immediately. Without an eliminator the warning is permanent and no amount of clearing makes it stay away.
Two Halves
This handles the electrical part. A cover for the cylinder head ports handles the mechanical part, and both are needed for the job to be finished.
Seventeen Model Years
The fitment runs from 2006 to 2022. Yamaha kept the R6's emissions architecture consistent across the whole of that period.
Emissions Approval
Taking the system off puts the motorcycle outside its road registration, which on a bike Yamaha itself now sells as track-only is largely academic.
Reversible
The original connector is used and nothing is cut. The solenoid goes back whenever it needs to.
Withdrawn Rather Than Compromised
Yamaha chose to stop selling the R6 for road use rather than detune it to meet the next emissions standard. That decision says a great deal about the engine and it is why the track-only version still exists at all.
