DescriptionThe whole story▼

Machined from solid billet aluminium on a Haas VM3 CNC centre in Canada, the Forsaken Motorsport linear suspension linkage transforms the RSV4's rear suspension geometry from a progressive rate into a far more consistent, linear one — delivering sharper traction, more predictable power transfer, and a confidence-inspiring feel whether you are dissecting a circuit or exploiting a fast road.

Key Features

  • Converts the stock progressive suspension rate to a linear rate, improving traction and drivetrain feel across the entire stroke
  • Machined from solid billet aluminium using a Haas VM3 CNC mill in Canada — no castings, no compromises
  • 35% stiffer than the original linkage, minimising deflection and flex under hard braking or heavy corner loading
  • Compatible with the standard spring; valve damping can be re-tuned to take full advantage of the flatter progressive rate
  • Supplied with new bearings for a clean, precise fit — original bolts, sleeves and seals can be reused

Build Quality and Materials

Where OEM linkages rely on cast components that introduce flex into the suspension circuit, the Forsaken Motorsport unit starts life as a solid block of aluminium. Every profile, bore and surface is cut on a Haas VM3 vertical machining centre — a platform favoured by motorsport fabricators for its dimensional accuracy and repeatability. The result is a linkage that is 35% stiffer than the part it replaces, keeping suspension geometry consistent even when the chassis is loaded hard mid-corner. Fresh bearings are included in the kit so the installation begins with zero play; existing hardware from the stock assembly bolts straight back in.

Suspension Performance and Setup

The RSV4's standard linkage produces a rising-rate characteristic that can feel vague early in the suspension stroke and abrupt at the limit. Forsaken Motorsport's MotoSpec software was used to design a geometry that linearises this response, giving the rear shock a more even spring rate throughout its travel. The practical outcome is more progressive, exploitable traction under acceleration and a rear end that communicates more faithfully under trail-braking. The stock spring remains fully serviceable; riders seeking the most from the conversion may also consider re-valving the shock to suit the flatter rate profile.

Fitment and Compatibility

Designed as a direct replacement for the following Aprilia models:

  • Aprilia RSV4 (2009–2016)
  • Aprilia RSV4 Factory (2009–2016)
  • Aprilia RSV4 R (2009–2016)
  • Aprilia RSV4 RR (2009–2016)

For solo rider use only. Pillion/passenger use is not compatible with this linkage.
