DescriptionThe whole story▼
Renewing the rear brake fluid on a Shiver 750 is a job many owners do at home, usually on a quiet evening and often with a friend. Aprilia's naked V-twin, sold from 2007 to 2016, has no fairing to take off before the work can begin. The job ends with closing the reservoir, and that is where a new cap comes in. Accossato's TS013, made of CNC-machined aluminium and anodised in seven colours, is listed for the rear brake fluid reservoir of the Shiver 750.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Aprilia Shiver 750, 2007 to 2016
- Fits the original rear reservoir according to Accossato
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Seven colours: black, green, gold, orange, silver, red, blue
- Accossato FP001 oil cap and TS004 front cap for the same bike
- Fitment to be checked on Accossato's application list
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato works the TS013 out of aluminium on CNC machines and anodises it afterwards. Seven colours are available: black, green, gold, orange, silver, red and blue. The cap is designed for the original rear reservoir of the listed motorcycles, so the Shiver keeps its master cylinder, hose and caliper unchanged. Before closing up, check the diaphragm or seal from the old cap, and replace it if it is split or stiff.
A Two-Person Job on a Quiet Evening
With two people, a rear fluid change on the Shiver 750 is calm work. One presses the pedal, the other looks after the bleed valve and the reservoir, and both agree on the steps before they start. Follow the procedure and the fluid specification in the owner's manual, or leave the job to a workshop if you have not done it before. Stand the bike upright so the reservoir is level, and lay a cloth over the paint and plastic parts around it; brake fluid attacks both, and anything spilled should be washed off with water straight away. Keep the reservoir open only for the time the job needs, because the fluid takes up moisture, and never let the level fall below the lower mark while you work. At the end, set the level between the marks, fit the TS013 and tighten it gently. Then comes the most important step: press the pedal several times with the bike stationary and make sure it feels firm and consistent before the first ride. Write the date of the change in the service book.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the TS013 for the original rear reservoir of the Shiver 750 from 2007 to 2016. Among other bikes, the same cap is also listed at Inter-Pace for the Dorsoduro 900, the Kawasaki Ninja H2 and the Kawasaki Versys-X 300. For the Shiver 750, Accossato also makes the FP001 oil filler cap and the TS004 front reservoir cap. Check your bike on the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
No test documents exist for the TS013 in our files, neither an ABE nor a test mark, which is why we sell it for motorsport use.
