DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato 16x16 radial clutch master cylinder uses a 16 mm piston matched to an equally sized 16 mm pivot distance, a combination Accossato describes as the softer version of its clutch range: it asks for a gentler pull at the lever in exchange for a longer stroke before the clutch is fully disengaged. The lever is a long folding design in black, with a relieving eyelet, and the body is finished in natural anodised aluminium.
Key Features
- 16 mm piston diameter paired with a matching 16 mm pivot distance
- Softer lever action, with a gentler pull and a longer stroke
- Long folding lever in black, with relieving eyelet (RST)
- CNC-machined aluminium body with natural anodising
- Offset riser that reduces master cylinder deflection during gear changes
- Passive lever stroke cut by more than 50 percent compared with a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato builds this clutch pump from Italian-machined aluminium finished with natural anodising, carrying stainless fasteners, a galvanised bleed valve and seals in Formula 1 compound through to the folding black lever. An offset riser inside the clamp fights deflection of the body while the gearbox is worked, and the bore is shaped so the passive travel at the lever, the part of the stroke before the plates actually separate, drops by more than half next to an ordinary radial clutch pump.
Why 16x16 Is Called the Softer Version
Matching the pivot distance to the piston diameter, both at 16 mm, is what Accossato calls the softer setup in this clutch line: hand effort at the lever drops, at the cost of the lever needing to travel a little further before the clutch is fully open. That trade suits a rider who finds a longer pivot tiring through a full day in the saddle, or who would simply rather have the lightest possible pull and does not mind the extra stroke that comes with it, particularly on a bike that is ridden mostly in slow traffic.
Fitment and Compatibility
Fifty-one motorcycles from BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki carry a confirmed match for this clutch master cylinder, among them the Kawasaki ER-6N (2012-2016), Suzuki GSF1250 Bandit (2007-2016), BMW F850GS Adventure (2019-2020), Kawasaki Vulcan S (2017-2020) and BMW R1250RT (2019-2020). The rest of the confirmed models, with their exact production years, are listed in the Fitment tab on this page, worth checking against your own vehicle papers before ordering.
Road Approval
This clutch master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato 16x16 radial clutch master cylinder fitted with the long folding lever and relieving eyelet (RST) in black, finished in natural anodised aluminium. Stainless steel mounting screws, the galvanised steel bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The brake light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
