DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some KTM RC8 R 1190 machines have long since given up their number plates and live in a trailer between race weekends. For those bikes Accossato supplies the AGPA106 front pad in its EV2 racing mixture. It fits the RC8 R from 2009 to 2015 and is intended for riders who compete, who fight for tenths in qualifying and who brake as late and as hard as the bike allows at the end of every straight.
Key Features
- Front pads AGPA106 for the KTM RC8 R 1190, 2009 to 2015
- EV2 racing mixture, SKU AGPA106EV2
- Named by Accossato as a top compound for racing
- Made for repeated heavy stops from high speed
- Suits club racing, endurance events and timed practice
- Two front calipers on the RC8 R: order two boxes
- Same plate available in ST, EV1 and ZXC
- No ABE held by us; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls EV2 racing one of its top compounds for competition, and that is how we present it: a pad for the circuit rather than for the commute. The manufacturer says its pads keep wear low, resist fading by limiting heat build-up and offer high stopping power, qualities that matter most when a front brake is used flat out lap after lap. The compound is bonded to the standard AGPA106 plate, so it fits the RC8 R front calipers without modification.
Late Stops on Race Weekend
Qualifying on an RC8 R is where the front brake decides a grid position. The rider carries speed deep into the turn, brakes hard and releases the lever with precision as the bike tips in. A racing compound is built for that rhythm, with the pads working at high heat for a whole session and still giving a consistent response on the final lap.
The weekend routine matters as much as the pad. Fit new sets before the event and bed them in during a practice session, not in qualifying. Check the fluid level and colour each evening, clean the caliper pistons before pushing them back, and look over the discs for cracks or blueing. When the pads have been changed, pump the lever until it is firm before the bike leaves the paddock.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA106 for the front of the KTM RC8 R 1190 of 2009 to 2015, which includes the RC8 1190 R TRACK from 2011 to 2015. For the rear caliper of the RC8 R, the matching Accossato part is AGPA42, and the DKS032 disc is catalogued as well. Each box contains the pads for a single caliper, so a complete front change on this twin-disc bike takes two boxes.
Road Approval
AGPA106EV2 comes without an ABE or German test mark in our possession. Use is intended for racing and competition.
