The Dakar Case

Dakar is Spark's adventure silencer: a titanium body with a TIG-welded terminal, minimal in shape and built for machines that spend time away from tarmac. Spark fits it to Tuareg, Norden, TRK and similar bikes, and it is the family whose owners are most likely to be somewhere a noise limit is enforced.

Why It Costs More Than the Others

The Dakar insert is a larger part with more machining in it, and it is built for a silencer that Spark supplies homologated on several motorcycles — which means the tolerances it has to hold are tighter than those of a custom-only part.

Spark's Dakar slip-ons ship with their insert fitted. Order this article when the original is lost, damaged or has been left out during a rebuild — not because the silencer needs it added.

On a homologated Dakar slip-on the insert is part of the certified configuration. Running the silencer without it puts the machine outside what the certificate describes, which matters at an inspection.
