DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing compound is available for front pad AGPA97, and since that pad fits the Yamaha Tracer 900 from 2015 to 2024, ZXC appears in its list too. It is a specialist race compound, suited to a Tracer 900 that has been turned into a circuit bike and to an owner who likes experimenting with setup. On a Tracer 900 used for touring or commuting, one of the road compounds is the sensible choice.

Key Features

  • AGPA97 front pad in ZXC ceramic racing compound
  • Listed for the Yamaha Tracer 900, 2015-2024
  • Accossato: a ceramic compound ideal for racing
  • For circuit bikes and setup experiments
  • Not intended for road use
  • Two pads, one caliper
  • Other compounds: OR, ST, EV1, EV2

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says ZXC is a ceramic compound that it considers ideal for racing. It publishes no more than that, and we will not guess at the rest. The company's general claims for its pads, slow wear, reduced fade and strong braking, are passed on as its statements. Accossato's roots go back to 1969, when it was founded in Moncalieri near Turin.

Experimenting on Track

Riders who choose ZXC often do so to compare it with EV2. On a track-prepared Tracer 900, running one compound in the morning and the other in the afternoon on the same tyres shows the differences in lever travel, consistency and wear. Keep a simple notebook with the circuit, session and impressions. That record is worth more than memory after a tiring day. For road riding, ST or EV1 remain the right choices. On a Tracer 900 the extra weight and height compared with a sports bike mean the brakes are asked for a lot at the end of every straight; watching how each compound copes as the session goes on, rather than on the first lap alone, gives the more useful answer.

In the Van

Pack spare pads, sealed fluid, a bleed kit and brake cleaner. Look at pads and discs every time the bike comes in.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA97 for the TRACER 900 from 2015 to 2024. With two front calipers, the bike needs two boxes. For the rear, Accossato gives AGPP88.

Road Approval

AGPA97ZXC has no ABE and no test report with us. It is intended for racing and circuit use.

Scope of Delivery
