DescriptionThe whole story▼

Yamaha's 2015 R1 arrived with electronics developed from its MotoGP programme and a look to match, and many owners want the cockpit to stay as purposeful as the rest of the bike. The Accossato LV020 offers a quiet way to do that. It is a folding brake lever for the R1 of 2015 to 2020, made for the original radial master cylinder, and among its eight blade colours is titanium, an anodised shade that sits calmly beside carbon, black and the bike's own paint.

Key Features

  • Folding brake lever for the Yamaha R1, 2015 to 2020
  • For the original radial brake master cylinder
  • Titanium among eight blade colours, with black, blue, gold, green, orange, red and silver
  • Black base with reach adjuster
  • Blade can fold at its joint
  • RST or NRST blade
  • CNC-machined aluminium, standard length

Construction and Material Quality

Titanium on the LV020 is a colour, not a material. Like every Accossato folding lever, this one is CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised, and the name only describes the shade of the blade. The base is anodised black in every version; it fits the pivot of the radial master cylinder and carries the reach adjuster. The blade is joined to it by the joint that lets it fold, and you can have it with the RST lightening opening or as the closed NRST blade, always in the standard length.

Titanium Without the Titanium

Colour on a superbike cockpit is a matter of taste, but some choices age better than others. A bright blade makes a statement on the first day and may clash with the next set of bodywork, a race livery or a change of paint. Titanium stays in the background. As a muted tone rather than a loud one, it tends to work with the dark surfaces around the R1's bars and with the carbon parts many owners add. There is a practical side as well. If the blade does fold in a tip-over and picks up a scratch, the bare aluminium underneath usually stands out less on a muted blade than on a bright red or blue one. For riders who keep their R1 for years, that neutrality is the point: the lever looks like part of the motorcycle rather than an accessory bolted on later. If you prefer a clear accent after all, the other seven colours remain, and no rule says the blade has to match anything else on the bike.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the LV020 for the R1 from 2015 to 2020, under the entry YZF 1000 R1, for the original radial master cylinder. The LV022 is the second folding lever for the same years. Accossato's fixed EDR015 brake lever covers a longer span, 2015 to 2024, and on the clutch side the fixed ESV04A is listed for the R1 from 2015 to 2021.

Road Approval

The LV020 is a track part: no German ABE has been documented for it.
