The Kove 800 X Pro has been on sale in Europe since 2024, and an owner looking for anything beyond the official service parts finds quickly that the catalogues have not caught up. Air filters are the exception, and the reason is structural: an element is defined by the box it seals into, not by the badge on the tank. Filter catalogues are organised by fitment because fitment is the only thing that decides anything: the frame has to seal, the cloth has to stand where the air goes, and the rest is marketing. Which of the two versions to order

Sprint Filter builds this fitment twice. The road-and-track P08 closes to 80 µm and flows 5,050 litres per square metre per second; the racing F1-85 opens to 85 µm and flows 15,000, and asks around two and a half times the price for that difference. An 800 X Pro is a rally-styled adventure machine, which in practice means dust far more often than it means the rev limiter, and dust argues for holding more back rather than passing more through — the finer media in the range, at 14 µm or at 7, exist precisely for that. Order the racing element if the bike is run at sustained full throttle and the airbox is opened often enough to keep an open weave clear. Otherwise the standard version is the closer match to how this machine is actually ridden.

Care and cleaning

Air, from the inside face outward, is the normal service — a compressor and a minute per side. Beyond that, lukewarm water with a mild detergent worked gently through the cloth, rinsed until it runs clear. Drying takes as long as it takes: open air only, never heat, never a flame, and never refitted while any dampness remains.
