Sprint Filter P037 Air Filter for WorldSBK Racing – Ducati Panigale V2 955 (2020–2024) R127S-WP-SBK

Set the three media Sprint Filter offers for this airbox side by side and this one looks like the odd number out. The standard P08 weave is 80 µm at 5,050 l/m²/sec. The racing cloth is 85 µm at 15,000. The P037 is 37 µm at 4,500 — finer than both and, alone among them, rated below the ordinary panel most owners already have fitted. It is the only WorldSBK assembly in this housing that is not sold on flow.

Finer, and therefore slower

The relationship is mechanical and unavoidable: a tighter weave stops more and passes less. The Sprint Filter range is laid out along that line rather than up a ladder, so a 37 µm cloth is not an improvement on an 80 µm one and a 14 µm one is not an improvement on either. Each is a position on the same trade. Choosing this one means spending a small part of the throughput of the standard panel in exchange for a weave that holds finer material and shrugs off water. None of that makes a standard Panigale V2 noticeably stronger, and no filter in an untouched airbox does.

Who spends flow on purpose

Riders whose machine is used through the year rather than on chosen days: commuting seasons, long distances in unsettled weather, a bike that lives outdoors under a cover. The lost throughput is measured at full demand, a state a road machine occupies in seconds, while the weather it is bought for arrives in hours. Where that description does not fit, the conventional panel for this airbox is the sensible purchase and R127S-WP-SBK is not.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air first and usually last: aimed at the clean side, worked outward, so the load exits the way it came in rather than being driven deeper into the cloth. A wash follows only when something has dried onto the weave — hand-warm water, a mild detergent, and a rinse continued until the water is clear. Everything then depends on drying it properly: in open air, at its own pace, well away from heat guns, radiators and flames, and refitted only when dry throughout.
