A Third of the Weight

Kawasaki's standard silencer for this generation weighs 4.1 kg. Spark's slip-on weighs 1.5. That is not a marginal reduction — it is a little over a third of the original component.

All of it comes off low and to one side, behind the centre of mass, which is where weight helps a naked bike least. The Z900 already turns easily; removing most of what hangs off its tail sharpens exactly the quality it was bought for.

Titanium Colours Itself

Bare titanium exposed to exhaust heat grows an oxide layer, and that layer produces interference colours — straw first, then bronze, then blue, strongest at the front of the case where the gas arrives hottest.

Spark says as much about its titanium silencers and it is worth repeating rather than leaving as a surprise. The process is not damage, it is not reversible, and it cannot be polished off. If you want an exhaust that stays exactly as delivered, the dark-style GKA0905DOM is the same silencer with a finish that does not move.

Drawn for the Z900

Spark makes an unusually specific claim about this case: the Konix Evo's extremely racing design and its angular lines blend particularly well with the Z900.

That holds up in front of the motorcycle. Kawasaki's naked is built from hard creases and flat surfaces, and a soft cylindrical silencer sits awkwardly against it. The Konix Evo picks the language up. The carbon end cap, cut at an angle rather than square, is the detail that finishes the argument.

Nothing Else to Arrange

Spark's aim for this range was a Euro5 approval that allows riding on all roads in compliance with the regulations, a darker and more captivating sound, and a performance improvement without any further modification to the bike.

The homologation comes from the Italian Ministry of Transport. No remap, no error lights, no additional parts, and the registration document is untouched. The carbon heat protection is in the box.
