A cracked bracket is a safety matter, not a cosmetic one.

Key Features

Dimension A 12.5 mm

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 05688-12

Dimension B 6 mm

Function

05688-12 is the 12.5 mm, 6 mm version — Öhlins lists each size separately. Mounting hardware is specific to the machine and the unit it belongs to. Reservoir housings hold the gas charge and are pressure-rated accordingly. Öhlins machines its housings from solid rather than casting them, which keeps the bores true.

Genuine Service Part

The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 05688-12 in this case. The published dimensions are dimension a 12.5 mm, dimension b 6 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Öhlins machines its housings from solid rather than casting them, which keeps the bores true. Housings carry bores for adjusters and seals; their concentricity decides whether the unit seals.

Fitting and Setup Service

We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 05688-12

Category: Top Mounts

Dimension A: 12.5 mm

Dimension B: 6 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/05688-12_a8b61eeb-b90b-475c-acb6-0c4b86ec23fe.png?v=1788874540
