DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 036 A restores the F900XR's indicator load after a change to aftermarket units.
Key Features
- BMW F900XR (2019–2024)
- Restores the indicator circuit load
- Stops the flash rate doubling
- Plugs into BMW's own connector
- For LED or removed indicators
- Standard units refit at any time
Seventeen Inch Wheels
The XR is a road bike with a tall stance rather than an adventure bike with a fairing, and it steers like something considerably smaller.
Wide Bars and Long Days
An upright position, an adjustable screen and cruise control. BMW aimed the F900XR squarely at riders covering distance on tarmac.
Indicators That Survive
Owners frequently replace the originals with something more robust rather than something smaller, because a bike used every day loses stalks to car parks.
Reversible
The standard units refit and the eliminator unplugs, with nothing cut in the loom.
Pannier Mounts in the Subframe
Designed in rather than bolted on afterwards, which keeps the cases narrow and the motorcycle usable in traffic fully loaded. It is the detail that separates a real tourer from a bike with luggage.
Bulb Failure by Current
BMW checks the draw on each side rather than watching the light. An empty circuit is a fault whether or not anything is actually broken.
Check the Plug First
The A and B versions differ in the connector rather than in what they do. Five minutes with a torch saves an exchange.
Heat Has to Go Somewhere
Anything that makes up a missing electrical load turns the difference into heat. A properly designed unit accounts for that; a bare resistor on a wiring loom does not.
Keep the Original Indicators
They are worth something to the next owner and they take almost no space in a box. Selling a motorcycle with its standard lighting available is straightforwardly easier than selling one without.
Where the Wiring Runs
The indicator leads follow the subframe forward to the body controller, and the eliminator sits in that run rather than at the lamp. That is why the standard connector matters more than the indicator's own plug.
