DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACC DU020 replaces the Scrambler 1100's throttle tube and housing with one machined body, reaching full opening in sixty degrees and using the motorcycle's own connector.
Key Features
- Ducati Scrambler 1100 (2018–2023)
- Ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Diagnostic reset required after fitting
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
Air Cooled and Upright
Ducati took the old air-cooled twin, gave it more capacity and built a wide-barred roadster around it. It is deliberately simple and the throttle is the most direct control on it.
Where the Wrist Ends Up
At full throttle the standard grip has usually rolled the wrist past comfortable. A shorter sweep leaves it in a position the arm can hold through a corner exit.
On the Road
Sixty degrees means small hand movements produce meaningful changes, which is exactly what a rider does not want in slow traffic behind a bus.
What the Dealer Does
Plugs in, runs the throttle learn routine, checks the closed reading. It takes minutes and it is the same procedure used after a throttle body service.
Two Riders, One Bike
A short-stroke throttle is a preference rather than an improvement. A bike shared between a track rider and a commuter is an argument for keeping the standard part reachable.
Riding Position Comes First
Bar height, lever angle and grip diameter all affect how a throttle feels. Changing the assembly before those are right solves the wrong problem.
Keeping the Bike Original
Everything removed is reusable and nothing is modified. That property is worth more on a motorcycle likely to be sold than on one likely to be kept.
Circuit Against Public Road
On a circuit the throttle is worked from a known position and the shorter sweep removes a pointless movement. On a road it is more complicated, because traffic, wet surfaces and long motorway stretches all reward fine metering at small openings.
Selling the Motorcycle
The standard part goes back in half an hour plus a reset. Buyers who wanted a short-stroke throttle would have bought one themselves, and buyers who did not will treat its absence as a reason to negotiate.
