DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 007 takes the RSV4's secondary air valve out of the circuit and leaves the panel showing nothing.
Key Features
- Aprilia RSV4 (2009–2026)
- Takes the secondary air valve out of the circuit
- Nothing appears on the instrument panel
- Plugs into Aprilia's own connector
- Nothing cut, nothing spliced
- Standard valve refits at any time
A Path Into the Header
Air is admitted to the exhaust ports on a closed throttle so residue burns there. It exists for certification and it is invisible in every other respect.
Why It Cannot Simply Be Unplugged
The winding is measured at every start and an empty connector reads as a failure. The warning then stays on the panel permanently.
The Right Impedance
This unit presents it. The controller is satisfied rather than silenced, so nothing is written into fault memory.
Aprilia's First V4
The RSV4 arrived in 2009 as a clean-sheet superbike from a company that had built twins and singles. It won a world title in its second season.
Electronic Throttle From the Start
Ride by wire was fitted when most rivals still used cables, which is how APRC arrived so early and so complete.
The Noise on the Overrun
A V4 with a full system produces a considerable amount of it, and almost all of it is residue burning in the header rather than resonance in the can.
Before Any Mapping
Air entering after combustion moves what a wideband sensor reads. Everything decided from those numbers is built on the error.
Eighteen Model Years
Aprilia has kept the same architecture current since 2009 and the secondary air arrangement across all of it, which is why one part covers the whole run.
The Reed Pack Stays
The mechanical half remains on the heads until the cover is fitted as well.
Homologation
The system is part of the bike's approval and removing it ends road legality in Europe.
Winglets in the Bodywork
Aprilia integrated aerodynamic surfaces into the fairing rather than bolting them on, developed alongside a MotoGP programme that had been running them for several seasons. They work at circuit speed and, unlike most attempts at the idea, they do not look like an afterthought.
